Nexus Mod Manager Source Forge

I found quite a negative review on Sourceforge about NexusMods.

At first glance NexusMods is a brilliant site, it's helpful.. and the mods are usually great on there! But don't let this fool you, when you dig deeper and start to experience the social side of the website like the forums and/or the live chat you will realise as much as the moderators may be helpful with your modding needs, they're lacking in social skills themselves, you so much say something they disagree with.. 1 simple word, and you are kicked from the chat but on top of that their website too. If you are unfortunate to get banned.. which it seems to be a common occurance.. for someone who had said "damn" or infact quoted a line from the game itself, it's pretty impossible to resolve the issue.

It states Banned users are not welcome back".,.. Their form for saying sorry states how useless the service is by pretty much saying you can try to get your account reinstated but frankly we dont care! They don't remove your mods after you are banned, or close your account and if you so much as know someone who is banned.. hope to god that they don't find out as a friend of mine got banned too!. if there was any other site or means that is friendlier than Nexusmods.with such a vast collection of mods.

I'd recommend it but I've not found one anywhere yet! Which is a shame. (apart from steam workshop!) Yes I've got banned, but until then.. I was oblivious to how many other people had too due to ridiculous reasons which can be found on many other skyrim forums with complaints about NexusMods! My advice? Don't make general conversation on the service, talk about mods and avoid using most negative terms in any language if possible otherwise.. say goodbye :D

More people are being treated unfairly

I've just found another blog highlighting the rogue actions by the moderators over at nexusmods. This one is called Dear dark0ne from the NexusMods

There are about 10 or 20 other blogs, articles and posts out there but I lost the links to all of them. People are really starting to become angry with the totalitarian system exhibited by the administrators on NexusMods.com

Banned for using a XBOX 360 copy

Yesterday I received a message from an individual about being treated very unfairly on NexusMods. He owned a copy of the Elder Scrolls Skyrim game on the Xbox 360 and was trying to get support.

Nightspectre420: How do I reach the gray beards am usin a xbox copy but it keeps crashin every time i get near the mountain?

Nightspectre420: I bought another copy but it keeps crashin every time

Lady Milla: I don't have time for thieves, you are banned.

From the sounds of it the administrators are randomly banning anybody for using a Xbox copy. I knew they banned anyone who admitted to using a crack but this is yet another example of the brutal regime which exists on NexusMods.

Alleged Pirate

This user was allegedly banned for pirating the Fallout New Vegas game. The claim that the user illegally downloaded Fallout New Vegas is sketchy at best. The user could of been talking about anything. The torrent network contains hundreds of thousands of legal files such as Linux distros and Freeware applications. Any use of the torrent keyword on the site usually results in an unfair ban.

Hidden evidence

This recent ban was quite worrying. The user was given a warning however the evidence is located within a restricted part of the site which can't be accessed. Many individuals have been given warnings on the NexusMods site unfairly. It's quite worrying to see that the evidence that was used to warrant the warning is unaccessible. How many other people have been banned or warned unfairly?

Another Ban

This user was banned for obvious reasons but its another example of the hatred and resentment towards Dark0ne and the other memebers of staff on evil NexusMods website.

XCOM Nexus Mods

It has been widely speculated that the Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) looks for pirated versions of Skyrim.

From a recent comment on a popular website any mods downloaded for the XCOM Enemy Unknown game scan the file size of the main executable. If a crack is detected the keyboard input on the game is disabled preventing anyone from playing it.

With his goal to stop pirates it seems Dark0ne is resorting to more drastic methods to deter people from pirating games.
